Product description
Review
This book equips the reader with a strong fundamental foundation in the subject... a superb text, which I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone with an interest in orthodontics. (British Dental Journal, June 2013)
This book offers a well-organized overview of the orthodontic field and is a nice addition to the general practitioner's collection (Doody's Notes)
The fourth edition has been improved and updated, confirming the authors commitment to contemporize this textbook. The book is well illustrated with coloured diagrams and numerous clinical photographs, making it very easy for the reader to grasp the concepts of orthodontics... In summary, this book, which is competitively priced, provides a thorough introduction to the main concepts of orthodontics and it will appeal to a diverse readership including undergraduate and postgraduate students, general dental practitioners with a special interest in orthodontics, and general dentists who want to get an overview of the specialty. (European Journal of Orthodontics, August 2013)

Review
`Review from previous edition An excellent and comprehensive introduction to orthodontics, written specifically with dental students, orthodontic therapists, and clinicians in mind. It easily achieves its objectives and provides the reader with so much more. It will also appeal to orthodontic postgraduate students as it provides an excellent introductory overview for the reader before they attempt to read more in depth literature.' British Dental Journal `...an excellent introduction to the study and practice of orthodontics...the book is well written...and I would readily recommend it to all concerned' Dental Update `Although no textbook can be regarded as an alternative to supervised training, this introduction to orthodontics is a well laid out and easy to follow book that is full of useful information for dental undergraduates, dentists with an interest in orthodontics and specialists in related fields such as paediatric dentistry.' International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry `This is a very affordable text, which should definitely be on the bookshelves of students as well as those general dental practitioners who wish to be aware of current concepts in orthodontics.' Dental Practice `The first edition of An Introduction to Orthodontics became a popular textbook, being recommended for undergraduates and general practitioners with an interest in Orthodontics. Its concise, easily read and understood layout is repeated in the second edition... The problem with a book entitled 'An Introduction' is the level at which the information is pitched and the amount to be included. However, the book has achieved the right balance' Dental Update `It is the sort of book that benefits from being read from start to finish by the undergraduate as it covers everything (and more) that they will need for their exams... Anyone who is looking for contemporary orthodontic information suitable for undergraduates and general dental practitioners will find everything they need in this book. It should be available in every dental school library.' Journal of Orthodontics `Very concise, well written and excellent photos. I am very glad I waited for the latest edition, even our ortho tutor hasn't got one yet.' Review from Amazon.co.uk `SEVENTEEN YEARS since An introduction to orthodontics was first published, in 1996, this paperback now contains over 70, full-colour images, as well as tables and diagrams. There are 23 chapters spread over 300 pages... Each chapter is supported by principal sources and further reading including, in some cases, hyperlinks to articles available online. There are boxes containing learning objectives and key points. References to relevant Cochrane Library reviews are given and there is a sample orthodontic assessment form, a glossary of orthodontic definitions and a seven-page subject index.'
