This book has a lot of necessary concepts and practical isntructions that help guide occupational therapy students for papers and more importantly some of the practical exams in the program. It's also a good resource while you are on placement. Many of the books the program asks students to buy are a bit of a waste of money if you're on a tight student budget (and you can probably access them at the library) but this book is definately worth purchasing. Only complaint about it is how large and heavy it is, the authors would benefit students commuting to school on transit or bike by offering a version in softcover and possibly breaking it into two volumes, as it is really hard on your back if you're taking it in backpack. Content wise, this is one book I'd definately keep in my collection after graduating.

I've been at OTR/L for 4 years now, and this is one of the few text books I have actually kept. It's been a really nice reference as I've transitioned from acute care to inpatient rehab to outpatient.

Terrible format for a textbook
Reviewed in Canada on 5 February 2014Verified Purchase
As this textbook is viewable through the kindle reader only it is useless as a textbook. The pages are not numbered as in the hard copy, so as a student i am not able to find readings that are assigned by page number. Furthermore, the zoom does not work on text boxes and tables, making it practically impossible to read the text in those areas. I do not recommend purchasing this book in electronic format.
