Great book!!!
Reviewed in the United States on 27 December 2010Verified Purchase
I'm horrible with math so I purchased this book along with College Algebra Demystified and I have definitely gotten my money's worth! This book starts with basic arithmetic like fractions, decimals, and percentages, and than slowly builds up. This book basically deals with high school level algebra. College Algebra Demystified picks up right where this one leaves off. Together, they are perfect!. They ended up being a great resource for my college algebra class. Concepts are easy to understand and straight to the point. This book explained concepts so much better than my college algebra textbook. I recommend it to anyone wanting a refresher on the subject or just needing a good companion to a school textbook.

Learn to do the work.
Reviewed in the United States on 13 August 2013Verified Purchase
This book will not work for you, unless you actively engage in working through the problems. And guess what? That is what is required of anyone who takes college algebra. There are no quick fixes, but if you are interested in having the steps broken down, then WORKING through what Ms. Huettenmueller gives you to do, this book is VERY beneficial. I'm giving it five stars, because it teaches you HOW to do it, it does not do it for you. Learning processes take time. Clearly the author realizes that.

I like it so far and college algebra for me was limited. I needed more.

I took a course of Algebra and Trig as a warm up for Three four credit courses in Calculus and was really weak for this challenge. I needed more preperation.

Missing pages (blank ones).

There are blank pages inside the book. The book is very good but the seller didn't check it for missing pages before to send it. Finally I've purchased an electronic edition.
