Assuming a minimum exposure to Principles of Microeconomics, this book reviews economic models and presents theories to explain the benefits and goals of trade between countries. It is rigorous and unique in its presentation of stories about countries in today's world. In addition to real-world stories, the text also offers standard theoretical constructs and economic models.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great textbook!
Verified Purchasegood book. has a great teaching method of sharing an insightful real-world conflict, and then applying theory to the problem.
Sometimes, the theory is not explained very well, so some knowledge of economics is required. But, you could also easily skim the theory because the summary of the theory is explained well and the application to real-world problems makes it much more tangible.
International Trade is a very complex topic, highly political, and still has several research topics and theories. But this book does a good job of simplifying it as much as possible. For example, the diagram provided at the end of each chapter really helps to explain why nations trade and to show that progress of what we have learned in the book.
If I were a teacher, I highly recommend following this book for you class.

4.0 out of 5 stars Professor is not very good at lecturing
Verified PurchaseI was in class taught by the author himself. Professor is not very good at lecturing, but his book is absolutely amazing at getting to the point and explaining the concepts and graphs. Taking off one star because as a math oriented person I found the lack of 'showing your work' to be frustrating.
