Having read this book, I can confirm that genetics is complicated. However, the book does a really good job of presenting the theory and the practicalities of genetics. The maths is easy. There are lots of pictures. The text generally avoids jargon (not everywhere, but there is a comprehensive glossary).
Only complaint is that the pace of the book is rather slow and the book is very long. If you want a quick overview of genetics, look elsewhere. However, the slow pace and numerous examples mean that even a complete novice like me can easily follow the arguments.
Recommended.
