About the author

Peter Deadman has worked in the field of health promotion and complementary medicine since 1971 when he co-founded Brighton's famous Infinity Foods natural and organic food store and bakery. A few years later he also co-founded the Brighton Natural Health Centre charity to teach ways of building mental and physical health (yoga, taichi, qigong, meditation, dance, Pilates etc.).
He qualified as an acupuncturist in 1978 and as a Chinese herbal medicine practitioner in 1992, and practised Chinese medicine for 30 years.
Peter has taught Chinese medicine and traditional health maintenance practices all over the world for decades. He currently teaches qigong in live, online and recorded video classes.
Peter is co-author of the primary acupuncture textbook A Manual of Acupuncture - used in acupuncture colleges worldwide and translated into multiple languages.
He is the author of Live Well Live Long: Teachings from the Chinese Nourishment of Life Tradition. This is a meticulously researched account of two and a half thousand years of Chinese medicine covering diet, exercise, mental cultivation, sleep, sexual behaviour, pregnancy and childbirth, connection with nature and music, old age and conscious dying. Throughout, traditional teachings are compared to the latest lifestyle research.
Peter lives in Brighton in Southern England, is married and has two daughters and three grandchildren.
