5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable, my Bible
Verified PurchaseI was recommended this on a postgraduate course. It is a very practical text book and one of the best for older children and adolescents in terms of providing useable and appropriate strategies. Highly recommended. I actually have it in hardback and on Kindle I use it so frequently. The Kindle edition is good but some images are hard to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Textbook for Understanding and Treating Children/Students with Language Based Learning Issues
Verified PurchaseI'm a huge fan of Dr. Rhea Paul and she continues to produce the best textbook for clinicians and language specialists, of all levels, for assessing and treating children of all ages and adolescents with speech language delays/disorders.
Speech really means enunciation (more specific than language and this textbook is really for language learning issues) and language development encompasses a broader territory: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The most common type of learning disability is a language based learning disability and many young children with speech delays, are actually language delayed- easily misconstrued. Connecting language delay and later language based learning difficulties is critical, however it doesn't get the attention it deserves. If you are a professional who works with individuals with developmental language difficulties (any age) and would like to keep abreast of the emerging field of language pathology, particularly with its connection to literacy, this textbook is a must for your professional library.
Thanks Dr. Paul!
