Fascinating book.

I had the opportunity to participate as a volunteer in a local archaeological dig and in a spirit of over-optimistic enthusiasm bought this book as it was recommended by them paid, professional types supervising us eager amateurs. Needless to say my fifty something, unfit and v saggy muscles lasted a couple of hours, meaning I was soon majoring in tea/coffee making, and enjoying the autumn sun. Likewise the book, fascinating though it looks, is now languishing as a hefty bookend to all my other books bought when I should have known better.

Great book for information on Archeaology
Reviewed in the United States on 24 January 2017Verified Purchase
I am currently working on my Anthropology/ Archaeology degree. This book help filled in gaps my teacher didn't teach on. I thoroughly enjoyed it because it's about my degree and is filled with information about Archaeology. I would recommend this book to a friend or for personal use, for the ones who are interested in Archaeology. However, it is a textbook for me, meaning it can have a few boring sections like any other textbook.

Prompt delivery on a discounted price. One would definitely fall in love with this book which is integrating almost all aspects of archaeology in concise, compact way without losing detailed nature of archaeological investigation. It also comes with a further suggested readings which are critical for further understanding of various chapters. Coloured images, box-leafs add extra interest and invite attention. Best book for archaeology at Graduate, Post-Graduate level.

VERY INFORMATIVE BOOK
Reviewed in Canada on 28 June 2013Verified Purchase
I gave this book 5 stars because it is a very interesting book for someone who is just learning about archaeology. This book was suggested by the course I am taking through Brown University "Archaeology's Dirty Little Secrets. I recommend it for people who like detail and want to develop an appreciation for the many facets of archaeology..
