Venue: Room HC01
Date/Time: Tuesday 6th September, 12-2pm

When an opportunity arises for a small tech startup, it can be difficult to determine whether the risk is worth the reward. Most startups are not successful for various reasons and making the decision to work for one is an invaluable skill to have. This talk will emphasize ways to identify the common factors in a successful startup, and how to find the right workplace for you!

Josh Wilson is a graduate of the University of Newcastle. He completed his degree in B.CompSc / B.Eng (Computer) in 2011 and went on to work as an iOS Developer at Invoice2go for 4 years. For the last 2 years he has enjoyed working as a Data Engineer. His previous workplaces include QValent, BAE Systems and the Department of Psychology as a Software Engineer.
