Negotiation is a competition where teams of two negotiators represent the interests of opposing parties to a dispute and attempt to resolve the conflicting issues. To do so, each team is to reach an outcome that advantageously satisfies the goals and expectations of their individual client, but that also reflects consideration for the needs and interests of the other side.

Students are judged on how well they represent their client’s needs, how well they work as a team and how well they communicate with the opposing team.
