Crappy subject. Just trying to teaching almost everything about physics but not going in depth. The unit is simply trying to cramp knowledge into u. definitely buy the monash published biophysics textbook, covers everything and it is very well structured. Don't even bother listening to the lectures. Pracs are ok, you may not know what the hell is going on during the prac but the postprac write ups are easy and the TAs are never harsh on marks. Tips for final: Do all the past exam papers cus they keep on using questions from previous years.

Very difficult without any prior physics knowledge. Don't kid yourself, get yourself a tutor (if you can find one) or REALLY hit the books on this one. Fast-paced. You won't learn anything from the labs, as the TAs for some reason just assume that everyone knows what they're doing, and their marking of your work will be just as harsh. HANDY TIP: not every part of this course is going to be in the "custom edition" of the textbook, get in early and borrow/ buy the textbook needed for bioelectricity, otherwise you won't know what the hell is going on. That particular lecturer will provide very little help, expecting a lot of knowledge to come from your own deductions (which is hard when you're struggling with even the basic concepts). BE PREPARED.

Difficult subject without having done VCE physics. However, the lecturers (bar one or two) were very good and really do want to help you. The most stressful part of this unit is the weekly three hour labs. Having to be constantly assessed whilst working in a group environment with inexperienced TAs can be frustrating. However, the basic concepts obtained here is crucial for further physiology units in Biomed.

can be difficult if you haven't studied physics in your high school. but can make it easy by referring to right books.

Besides the annoying and tedious labs, the unit was very well run and quite interesting. Be sure to do the practise exams as the exam was very similar to them for my year. Be sure to put the effort in, especially if you haven't done VCE biology.

A difficult unit for students who have very little (or no) experience with physics. The labs are relevant to lectures and reinforce concepts, but they are very long and tedious, and a lot of time is wasted on pointless tasks or waiting around for TAs. A high score - HD even - is more than achievable if you do the work.

I had not completed high school physics and that made this unit SO difficult. However, if you use all the resources and go over the concepts a HD is very possible and easy to achieve.

Very easy, it was so good. All my friends thought it was difficult but I smashed it. Easy 10/10, effort required 1/10

For students who have not previously completed physics in high school, this unit is quite difficult. The pracs are rushed, and you don't have much time to absorb everything. Despite this; enjoyable content and decent lecturers.

the prac classes were great
