Monash Law School

Organised by:
Monash Law Students' Society

This Thursday 8th September is R U OK? Day at Monash University! The two great forces of the Law Faculty and the Monash LSS are teaming up to commemorate the occasion and remind people to look out for each other.

R U OK? Day is an annual day of action in September dedicated to inspiring all people of all backgrounds, as well as family, friends, fellow students and colleagues to regularly ask each other ‘Are you ok?'

Most people don't openly share their feelings, particularly if they're struggling. The best thing we can all do is regularly talk to the people we care about - regardless of whether they are at risk - because connection is good for us all. By regularly reaching out to one another and having open and honest conversations, we can all help build a more connected community and reduce our country’s high suicide rate. By raising awareness about the importance of connection and providing resources throughout the year, the R U OK? The Foundation aims to prevent isolation by empowering people to support each other through life's ups and downs.

To help raise awareness, the Law Faculty and the LSS are putting together a myriad of events including a free BBQ on South One Lawns where there will be plentiful amounts of snags, burgers veggie burgers.

In the law basement students can get free cupcakes and massages from one of the masseuses.

We hope that many of you can take a break from the rigors of Law School, and spend an arvo relaxing with your mates and some free food. .

P.S. Keep an eye out for Boof the Law Dog, he has some friends with him

Love as always,

Your LSS and Faculty of Law
