LSS presents: lgbtiq+ in family law
9 August, 2016
L2, 15 Ancora Imparo Way (Law Building)
Monash Law Students' Society
The Social Justice and Equity team are bringing you the first seminar for Semester 2.
This time around we are focussing on current issues with the way family law operates in the LGBTIQ+ community. Same-sex parenting, marriage equality, recognition of non-birth parents, defacto relationships. How does the law stand currently? What changes should we be lobbying for? How will the marriage act change if the federal government accept the result of a positive plebiscite?
If you want to know more about how Australia's current family law operates in the LGBTIQ+ community in Australia, this is the seminar that you should attend.
