Anyone who is a nutrition student and has been an MNDS member for more than 5 days before our AGM is eligible to be a committee member or rep. Below are the positions that are open, and a brief description of each role. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information! We are more than happy to chat to you about what our experience on the MNDS committee was like this year (:
Positions open to current first year BNutSci students:
(ii) Vice President;
(v) Events Coordinator;
Positions open to other year levels (note: refers to year level in 2017)
(vi) 3rd year BNutDiet Representative;
(vii) 4th year BNutDiet Representative;
(viii) 3rd year BNutSci Representative
(iix) 2nd year Representative
While the committee works as a whole, some positions have designated roles.
The president chairs meetings, co-ordinates the activities of the committee and represents the club as its spokesperson. The vice-presient assists the President in these duties.
The treasure keeps the club's finances in order, looking after our budget and bank account. They also prepare the club's financial books for audit.
The secretary organises club meetings, membership registers, and manages inwards and outwards correspondence for the club. They also act as Returning Officer for club elections.
The event coordinator is responsible for organising social functions throughout the year, which involves logistics management and operation of the event. They work the treasurer to ensure functions are organised within budget and are also involved in the promotional activities of the club.
The duties of the BND and BNS Year Level Representatives include attending meetings and being a spokesperson for your corresponding year level in the Nutrition and Dietetics community. You'll give your year level a voice to express any ideas and concerns, and assist us in organising events and promoting our functions.
For students who are not studying nutrition or dietetics, or are interested in a more casual role within the Society, we're also very happy to have General Committee members on board. There's no election involved in this role - just your interest and commitment!
Gather your mates and come along to our AGM to participate in these important elections, and most importantly, pick up some free food and drink!
