A kingdom in disarray, nobles in exile, a wrestling match, two brotherly quarrels, young love and a little cross-dressing for good measure...

The stage is set for a beguiling tale of mistaken identity, betrayal, betrothal and self-discovery. When Rosalind is banished by her tyrannical uncle, Duke Frederick, she is forced to flee to the Forest of Arden with her cousin, Celia. Unbeknownst to the pair, Rosalind’s love, Orlando, is also on the run in the forest. This is As You Like It - a comical adventure through the forest of poetry. Follow Rosalind and Celia as they assume hilarious disguises, meet an array of captivating characters and search for their one true love with spectacular Shakespearean flair.

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Bard’s death, Monash Shakespeare Company kicks off its 2016 season with As You Like It, featuring critically-acclaimed original music by Brit Award-winning singer-songwriter Laura Marling. Starring a powerhouse cast and an on-stage 5-piece band, this heart-warming production promises to be a visual and musical delight for audiences of all ages.
