The course seemed interesting, Deanna is a wonderful lecturer but I would not recommend Linda Buckley as a tutor. Overall doable unit but assignments could really be better explained its requirements. Would recommend to pick another people unit if possible if you're truly looking to learn.

The course premise seemed interesting when I was picking out my People Unit, as it aligned with my degree. However, my tutor did not seem prepared to teach a course on cyberlanguages at all, and seemed to barely understand the concept of memes and pop culture. Our assignments were weirdly specific and not explained well to us. I thought as a People Unit, the tutors would be more accommodating and brief individuals from different faculties as to how to adapt to the writing styles of the LING department. I was wrong. I felt underprepared for the assessments. Overall, very dissapointed and would not recommend. Pick another People unit.

This course was really fun, a very interesting look into the changes effected by the digital age. Overall the work load was reasonable and fun (you get to make up memes)! I found the readings generally far better than the usual dry academic writing standard we are used to for most subjects. Deanna was an awesome course convener and tutor.
