If this subject is not compulsory for your degree I don't recommend you doing it. Assessments were marked overly harshly and it was very difficult to achieve more than a pass. The lecturers were quite harsh at times and treated you like high school students and picked on you in the lectures if you didn't know the answer to a question. Although the field trip was fun and you get to go into the ecology reserve for the pracs (there is only 5 pracs which is great as the field trip makes the most of the prac) I still found this subject quite stressful. For the ecology reserve prac most students achieved just 50%. They also now changed the weekly quizzes to a mid sem exam which makes it harder to gain better marks.

Course subject is interesting and engaging. Excursion to Smiths Lake is fun - depending on the weather - TAKE TONNES OF WET WEATHER GEAR and if you can help it, don't camp. It'll rain and you will get flooded. Otherwise great subject. Kath is a great lecturer and makes the subject fun and easy to understand
