Bellarine Peninsula

Organised by:
Dive La Trobe

What better way to celebrate the End of Exams than by a big weekend out with all your favourite dive buddies? (And we mean a BIG weekend!)

The weekend will kick off on Thursday evening with 'A Night Under The Sea' where you will be able to learn about some great marine projects happening in the local region, as well as a fantastic initiative being commenced within the club by one of our own members. Topics being discussed are;

- Operation Sponge and the Adopt-A-Sponge Project
- The Great Victorian Fish Count
- The Fish ID Project

You will then be able to apply your new found marine identification knowledge on Saturday during the 'Great Victorian Fish Count'. The GVFC is a long standing marine project that aims to monitor distributions of marine species in Victoria's waters. More information will be provided during Thursday's 'Night Under The Sea'.

Surely that's enough for one weekend?! But wait, there's more...

A group of members from the Tas Uni Dive Club are coming to visit for the entire weekend and we will be showing them the fantastic diving that Victoria has to offer. As well as enjoying a few beers, a few BBQs (pumpkin chips anyone?...) and celebrating the birthday of one of our favourite Mexicans.

Diving will be happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the aim for the boat to be out over all three days. All members are welcome to stay on the Bellarine Peninsula together.

Make sure that you're at the Boat Shed on Thursday nights to keep up to date with all the plans for this BIG weekend of diving!
