Legal Scholar Speech: Complementary Protection in Australia
22 September, 2016
Law Students Association
The Legal Scholar Speech is a great opportunity to hear a legal scholar address a topic that they specialise in. Hearing about a unique topic outside the lecture theatre allows students to expand their perspective to the broader law landscape.
This year our legal scholar Savitri Taylor will be presenting an address on "Complementary Protection in Australia". Savitri is a scholar in refugee law and asylum policy here at La Trobe, teaching Foundations of Property Law and Refugee Law in Context. Her expertise in the area will provide some enlightenment on the topic. Attendance is highly recommended to all students who are eager to learn more about the current predicament facing many asylum seekers and refugees in Australia.
There will be 15 minutes for Q&A after the main address.
Where: New Moot Court, Level 2, Social Sciences Building
When: Thursday 22nd September, 2pm - 3pm
Food and refreshments will be provided.
