Plays from the 1600s are often romantic and poetic. They are elegant, refined entertainment. Not Tartuffe. Tartuffe is bawdy, silly and overall naughty. When Tartuffe was first performed the Archbishop of Paris threatened to excommunicate anyone who went to see it. This show will honor that.

Orgon has been to church and discovered the most pious religious man in all the land. He decides to take Tartuffe home to his irreligious family in the hopes that he may rub off on them, however Tartuffe seems to only be interested in rubbing off on Tartuffe's wife and daughter.

Performed as part of La Trobe Student Theatre and Film's 2017 Moat Festival.
