JCU Medical Students

On the 5th of August, JCUMSA will be hosting our annual guest speaker night. As we have previously explained, this year, we are hosting the event in honour of our beloved lecturer Maggie Grant. Hence, this year we would like to bring to you the

Inaugural Maggie Grant Guest Speaker Night!

This event will be held yearly, as our guest speaker nights are, but it will now be a memorial event for Maggie. For this first event, we have invited Maggie’s long-time friend and colleague Dr Dennis Pashen. One of the leaders of rural and remote medicine, Dennis will be speaking on several topics that Maggie championed. His topic will be "I spy, painted chooks, eagles and crystal springs. Journeys with Maggie”, with Professor Gracelyn Smallwood delivering the Welcome to Country.

The event will start from 5:00pm in lecture theatre 45, with Professor Smallwood commencing the event from 5:30. Following Dr Pashen’s speech there will be some light refreshments and food for all guests.

We would be delighted to invite you all to join us for this wonderful event, in memory of Maggie.
