JCU Medical Students

Bhangra is an artform which is extremely vibrant, energetic and promotes wellbeing through strenuous, but fun and intoxicating cardiovascular exercise. It is a danceform which has its roots in the agricultural northern Indian state of Punjab. As mentioned in last week's lectures, JCUMSA and Rhythms Bhangra - the medical school's own bhangra crew - will be holding a FREE bhangra workshop tomorrow evening in building 46. We hold this event with the hope of promoting exercise and broadening cultural awareness and tolerance - two very important areas to work on when it comes to improving the mental health of all Australians.

Come along to learn the basics of bhangra and to master a small segment from Rhythm's Bhangra's 2016 cultural fest performance!! Hope to see you all there :) Don't forget to wear light, comfortable clothes (you will be moving around) and be sure to bring a water bottle, because we will be stepping up the heat!!
