An ideal reference, this market-leading text provides the most comprehensive and current presentation of occupational therapy concepts and practice. This text is organized around the student-oriented questions: "What will I do?", "Who will I treat?", and "Where will I practice?". New to the Tenth Edition are chapters on spirituality, neuromuscular intervention techniques, the environment as a component of self, research and practice, facility-based practice, and more. Features include integration of the new AOTA Practice Framework with the International Classification of Function, and continuation of Mary Feldhaus-Weber's powerful narrative of her life after a head injury with a six-page full-color insert of her art added. Other features include practical examples/dilemmas, current trends toward community-based practice in a variety of settings, and consultation. Pedagogical features include unit introductions and learning objectives, chapter outlines, summaries, and ethics boxes.

4.0 out of 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars THE Fundamental OT Text
Verified PurchaseWillard and Spackman must have been very good therapists; their text is a staple of OT education. The text is broad and thorough without being enormous, and unlike many texts (on many other subjects) it finishes a subject with the reader looking for more - not because there wasn't enough information for the subject, but because the authors manage to make the reader interested and excited in their subjects. This was a "must have" at my school, and when my copy was damaged beyond use, I didn't think twice about replacing it immediately.
