Bought this book for a medical terminology course I was doing at college. The book came very quickly and was perfect. It had several chapters for each different topic and practice questions. There were also lists of terminology used which could be used to revise from. Was a great help for my course and helped me get a distinction and a merit in both my exams! I've still got the book even though I don't work in that line anymore and it's useful to keep for future reference.

A knowledge of medical terminology is essential for employment in many health care professions. This attractive and easy to use self-teaching text provides a simple, interactive and comprehensive guide to the language of medicine. Following a brief introduction to the basic components of medical words, each unit deals with a different body system and follows a standard plan: word exercises; an anatomy exercise based on an illustration; a case history; medical notes; a word check; a self assessment. By breaking words into their component parts and applying knowledge through exercises and examples from patient care, the reader learns how words are formed and becomes familiar with the common roots and suffixes of medical words as well as how they will be encountered in practice. In addition the text provides a comprehensive glossary and a list of common abbreviations.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent resource for college students entering medical
Verified PurchaseAn excellent resource for college students entering medical, biomedical and allied health fields. The book offers an easy to use methodology for students to decode monosyllabic medical terms, which I have adapted in my class. The students use the book as a guide to understanding how to decode medical terms that they need to learn in Anatomy & Physiology. I have been using this book over the past three years and hope you will continue to stock it on your site. The price is very reasonable and easy for students to purchase on Amazon.com.
