4.0 out of 5 stars Collins Italian Dictionary
Verified PurchaseSeveral years ago when studying Spanish, I purchased a Collins Spanish Dictionary. I liked it very much, actually, I still do. So when I decided to purchase a dictionary for my Italian studies, I went back to Collins. The format is pretty much the same. The Italian dictionary is entirely in black print whereas the Spanish dictionary has the base words in blue with the descriptive text in black. Text boxes with noteworthy explanatory information, are in blue, too. I like the dual colour scheme, but this is a really a minor issue. The dictionary is extensive and this is what counts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality stuff
Verified PurchaseI am very satisfied with this dictionary. It is not cheap but I am kind of fed up with buying cheap dictionaries and then finding they only give one meaning per word, at best, or don't work with Kindle at all.
This one is very detailed. Top quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works for Translations in Kindle Android App (Pixel 7)
Verified PurchaseIt wasn't clear to me from the description or reviews whether this dictionary would actually provide translations when I highlight an Italian word in my Kindle app on my Pixel 7, but I can confirm it does. I was able to set it as my default dictionary for translations so that I can see translations in the little pop-up when I highlight a word.
I also tried the Merriam-Webster dictionary, but this one is much better. This one can recognize conjugated verbs and adjectives with different endings, which the Merriam-Webster dictionary couldn't, making that one much less useful. I find that this dictionary returns results for almost everything while the Merriam-Webster usually came up short.
My only complaint is that it doesn't play nice with my preferred theme of white text on a black background: some words (explanations in parentheses) are almost black in the pop-up, making them hard to read, but the actual translations are white, so it's not a big deal. And everything is displayed properly if you click into the full dictionary.
