I ordered this book to use for an online AIS (Accounting Information Systems) class. It was the exact book required for the course but it was a cheaper version since I was renting it on my kindle. I have been pleasantly surprised with how easy it has been to read and research with the kindle edition. You can simply touch towards the bottom of the screen and jump to different pages. I am glad I made the decision to rent this book on my kindle as I saved well over $70 by doing it this way!

Simkin & Norman′s 12th Edition of Concepts of Accounting Information Systems builds upon previous issues with more in–depth focus on topical issues essential to accountants such as Sarbanes–Oxley, Cobit Version 4, XBRL, and of risk and governance in a much more concise, user–friendly way. More Case in Point sections highlight how the concepts are applied in the field and additional multiple choice questions have been added at the end of the chapters to help reinforce the material. An enhanced and updated database chapter also provides hands–on instruction in Microsoft Access.

3.0 out of 5 stars Outdated
Verified PurchaseThis is a solid introduction to accounting information systems, but it's hopelessly outdated. It's not written for students who grew up in the age of internet and smart technology.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed
Verified PurchaseThe book was pretty banned up when I received it. The cover was missing and the use of the reference pages was null. The book was cheap and I see why, but the book was advertised as lightly used, so I am disappointed with the product I purchased. The school I attend provides electronic copies with each class, but I prefer physical copies. I have had to uss the ebook several times to get info that was missing in this book. Someone else may not have been so lucky.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kindle Version Core Concepts
Verified PurchaseThis book was an excellent source of information for papers in other classes. I had search issues with the Kindle edition and the author capped out the number of "copy/pastes:" which really frustrated me during the last part of the semester.
