On International Women’s Day, the Deakin Law Students’ Society is proud to present ‘Be Bold for Change’, a panel discussion promoting legal and social reform to accelerate gender parity.

Our five guest speakers will explore the issues of Aboriginal family violence; revenge porn; homelessness; sexual assault; and the gender pay gap, and what action can and is being taken to reduce inequality experienced by women in these areas.

Rena Ou Yang - CEO of Empowered Together.

Lucy Adams - Manager of Homeless Law.

Dr Nicola Henry - A Senior Lecturer in Crime, Justice and Legal Studies at Latrobe University who has 18 years of experience in researching sexual and gender-based violence.

Meriki Onus - The Community Legal Education Team Leader at the Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention and Legal Service.

Bianca Quan - Convenor of Victorian Women Lawyers
