When:
29 January, 2017

Location:
Fitzroy St & Catani Gardens

Organised by:
Geelong Queer Collective

Deakin Allies, Deakin Pride (Burwood), Deakin Geelong Queer Collective and all other LGBTQI+ supporters within Deakin are invited to come along and march in Melbournes iconic Pride March!

With its origins in the spontaneous demonstrations of Stonewall and speaking to the struggles of LGBTQIA+ peoples everywhere, Midsumma Pride March is a spectacular act of solidarity in a world where many go without rights, dignity and visibility.

Encounter the kilometre-long procession of Victoria's diverse queer communities as they dance, strut, sing, catwalk, vogue, placard, drag and move together in a celebration of difference, acceptance and equality.

Follow the 22nd Pride March as it surges through St Kilda and culminates in an afternoon of festivities at Catani Gardens.

We will all be gathering before the March (at a location to be advised- hint deakin will have a car in the parade) and after the March in the Gardens at the big rotunda for a picnic and to listen to the music and take in the fun.

If you would like to organise to train up together or carpool, feel free to use this page as a safe space to do so.

Lets make it known that Deakin has a strong LGBTQIA+ community!
