Hey guys!

We're excited to officially announce our 2ND ROUND of auditions for a Cabaret night for 2016!

When and where is the Cabaret night?
Due to Popular demand, the performance will be on October 29th at Mrs Robinson in the restaurant/cafe area from 5pm onwards.

What's the Cabaret show theme?
1st Evangelical Church of Our Lord and Saviour Frank N Furter is to be a cabaret show based around the themes of the Rocky Horror Show. The show will be hosted by a man known only as The Reverend, and his wife.

At the start of the show the wife is a nice, meek, subservient woman but by the end of the show she will have found the POWER and LOVE of our lord and saviour Frank N Furter and will be well and truly in control of the show and her life.

The acts in the show must have a link to one or more of the themes of Rocky Horror, it doesn’t mean they have to use the music from the show or indeed even dress like them - It just has to relate to the themes of the show.

Who are we looking for?

2 MCs - the Reverend and the Wife (this is not set in stone and we encourage people of any gender to audition!)
The MCs must be comfortable with the idea of being in control of the show and be a real PEOPLE PERSON. Improvisational skills are essential. Singing skills would be preferable but not essential. Depending on how the show comes together, the MCs may be doing an act themselves.

Rest of the cast - we are looking for any type of act! Singing, dancing, juggling, stand-up, magic, clowning etc. We have no minimum or maximum of the size of the cast so it all depends on the skills and talents showcased at auditions.
Please keep an open mind as we may modify your act to make it fit within our theme. Other cast may be called on to learn lines or other songs or dance routines as required.

If you are successful and are not currently a BuSTCo member, you will need to pay a small membership fee to be part of the cast, for insurance purposes

If people cannot think of an act for themselves – we encourage them to come along to auditions with any song, do the dance audition if they wish, and also tell us of any skills that they have. We will need people to fill in backing singing roles, dancing roles, and possibly a lead or two as well.

TBC depending on cast availability. There will be a maximum of 2 group rehearsals between now and October 28th.

Prod Team:

JOHN JENNINGS was the Assistant Director for our successful production of Pride and Prejudice earlier this year! John has directed many Cabaret shows in the past and is very excited to work closely with BuStCo to put on this knock-out cabaret show.

JESS RIDLER will ably assist you with your acts. Jess is no stranger to the stage, being a well-known face in the local theatre circuit, working with the likes of Fab Nobs, PEP and SLAMS. Earlier this year, Jess performed in a successful variety show, Skirts II. Jess is excited to help create this variety with BuSTCo.

At your audition, please bring your CV and your headshot/selfie, as well as a copy of your music on a device that can be connected to the classroom audio system (i.e. on a usb, on a device that can be plugged into the sound system or computer)

To book your audition, please contact Duyen on 0431 745 863.
