Dealing with Putin’s Russia has proven problematic for successive Western leaders. The man Bush II looked in the eye and found ‘very straight forward and trustworthy’ has since invaded Georgia, annexed part of Ukraine and thwarted Obama’s ‘reset’ policy.

Join us as we talk to the experts about where Putin came from, where he wants to take Russia and everything in between.

Our panel includes:

⌲ Dr. Kirill Nourzhanov: Deputy Director & Senior Lecturer at the Centre of Arab & Islamic Studies

⌲ Kyle Wilson: Visiting Fellow at the ANU Centre for European Studies having previously served as Senior Russia Analyst at the Office of National Assessments and DFAT's Russian interpreter for Australian PMs and FMs.

⌲ Stephen Fortescue: Honorary Associate Professor of Political Science at UNSW and author of "Russia’s Oil Barons & Metal Magnates: Oligarchs & the State in Transition"
