Jeffersonian democracy in action: Who are the candidates, what are their policies and what does it mean for American foreign policy?

The US elections are already dominating the global news cycle and we're still a year out; Trump, Clinton, Bush, Sanders, Rubio - already household names and we haven't even had Super Tuesday yet!

The ANU International Relations Society in collaboration with the Australian American Association invites you to a panel discussion which will get to the heart of what's really going on across the Pacific.

To discuss all things American politics we have secured:

⌲ Professor Simon Jackman: Professor of Political Science, SPIR; public opinion expert and Principal Investigator for the American National Election Studies

⌲ Dr. John Hart: Lecturer of Government and Politics in the USA, SPIR

⌲ Dr. Darren Lim: International Relations Lecturer, CASS

The event will be chaired by Michael Cooney, the Executive Director of the Chirfley Research Centre, and former speechwriter to Julia Gillard as well as political advisor to Federal Labor Leaders Kim Beazley and Mark Latham.

Hope to see you there for an evening of political discussion and democracy in action, followed by a Q and A with the panellists.
